Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how you may use the bolthub platform to publish and monetize API endpoints. This policy supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users, including API providers and consumers. Violations may result in endpoint suspension, account termination, or legal action.

2. Prohibited: Unauthorized Data Reselling

You must not use the platform to resell, redistribute, or sublicense data or services obtained from third-party providers unless you have explicit, documented authorization to do so. Specifically:

• •Do not republish data from premium or paid data providers (e.g., financial market data feeds, proprietary research databases, licensed content APIs) through your endpoints unless your license explicitly permits redistribution
• •Do not use personal API tokens, subscription credentials, or trial access from third-party services to serve that data commercially through the platform
• •Do not aggregate or repackage data from multiple licensed sources and sell it as your own without the necessary redistribution rights from each source
• •Do not circumvent access controls, rate limits, or authentication mechanisms of upstream data providers to obtain data for resale

If you are unsure whether your license permits redistribution, contact the original data provider before listing an endpoint.

3. Prohibited: Intellectual Property Infringement

You must not serve content through your endpoints that infringes on the intellectual property rights of any third party:

• •Do not serve copyrighted material (text, images, audio, video, software, datasets) without the rights holder's permission
• •Do not scrape, cache, and redistribute content from websites or APIs that prohibit such use in their terms of service or robots.txt
• •Do not serve content that violates trademarks, trade secrets, or patent rights of any third party
• •Do not misrepresent the origin or ownership of content served through your endpoints

4. Prohibited: Illegal and Harmful Content

• •Do not serve content that is illegal in Australia or in the jurisdiction of your users
• •Do not facilitate the sale of illegal goods or services
• •Do not distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or any software designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems
• •Do not serve phishing pages or fraudulent content designed to deceive users
• •Do not distribute child sexual exploitation material or content that sexualizes minors
• •Do not serve content that promotes terrorism, violence, or incites hatred against individuals or groups

5. Prohibited: Platform Abuse

• •Do not engage in self-dealing (making requests to your own endpoints to inflate usage metrics or billing)
• •Do not attempt to circumvent billing, usage tracking, rate limiting, or any other platform mechanism
• •Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform or any related system or network without written permission
• •Do not impersonate other users, providers, or misrepresent your identity
• •Do not use the platform to conduct denial-of-service attacks against any service
• •Do not create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, suspensions, or billing obligations

6. Your Obligations as a Provider

• •You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to serve any data or content through your endpoints
• •You must maintain accurate and truthful descriptions of your endpoints in the API Hub
• •You must respond to IP-related inquiries from the platform within 48 hours
• •You must promptly remove or disable endpoints upon receiving notice that they violate this policy or any third-party rights
• •You must comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction and the jurisdictions of your users

7. Reporting Violations

We take policy violations seriously. If you believe an endpoint on the platform violates this policy or infringes your intellectual property rights:

• •Use the "Report" function available on each endpoint listing in the API Hub
• •Email contact@bolthub.ai with the endpoint details, the nature of the violation, and any supporting evidence
• •We will investigate all valid reports and take appropriate action, which may include suspending or removing the endpoint

8. Enforcement

bolthub reserves the right to enforce this policy at our sole discretion:

• •First violation: We may issue a warning and request remediation within a specified timeframe
• •Repeated or serious violations: We may immediately suspend or remove endpoints without prior notice
• •Severe violations (illegal content, fraud): We may terminate accounts and report activity to relevant authorities
• •We may cooperate with law enforcement or rights holders investigating violations of this policy

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the platform after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
